Frenectomies

What is a Frenectomy?

A frenectomy is a procedure used to correct a congenital condition in which the labial (upper lip) or lingual (tongue) frenulum is restricting normal movement and can cause significant difficulty with breastfeeding in infants. A frenectomy may also be recommended as limited movement of the tongue or lip can lead to other health problems such as dental decay, abnormal spacing of teeth, speech difficulties and digestive issues. These issues can generally be corrected by a simple procedure done with our soft tissue laser.
